The Clinton "Water Works" was established under the provisions of Chapter 98 of the Acts of 1876 in order for the Town to "...supply itself and its inhabitants with pure water to extinguish fires, generate steam, and for domestic and other uses, and may establish public fountains and hydrants and regulate their use..."

The Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the water system within the Town of Clinton. We currently maintain & operate, three water storage tanks, three booster pump stations, and miles of water mains some of which date back to 1882!

Water Usage from 0 - 1000 cubic feet is billed at $5.66 per Hundred Cubic Feet
Water Usage from 1000 - 3000 cubic feet is billed at $1.30 per Hundred Cubic Feet
Water Usage from 3,000 - 5000 cubic feet is billed at $2.90 per Hundred Cubic Feet
Water Usage from 5,000 - 20,000 cubic feet is billed at $3.12 per Hundred Cubic Feet
Water Usage over 20,000 cubic feet is billed at $3.35 per Hundred Cubic Feet

Water & Sewer Usage from 0 -1,000 cubic feet is billed at a Minimum Rate of $99.00
Minimum Water 56.60, Minimum Sewer $42.40 = $99.00

Sewer Usage is billed at 75% of Water

Example - How Your Bill Is Calculated

If your water usage is 21,000 CF:

First 1000CF/100 = 10 * $5.66 = $56.60
Next 2000CF/100 = 20 * $1.30 = $26.00
Next 2000CF/100 = 20 * $2.90 = $58.00
"Next 15,000CF/100 = 150 * $3.12 = $468.00"
Remaining 1000CF/100 = 10 * $3.35 = $33.50

Total Water $642.10
Sewer Rate is 75% of Water $642.10 * 75% = $481.58

Total Bill $1123.68
